Startup Saturday Hyderabad-October

SS Hyderabad- October

October 9 2010 @ Lamakaan (Banjara Hills)

Theme: Learnings from brave startup failures

Brave entrepreneurs often tread the untreaded path pioneering an idea not tested thus far. In that process the entrepreneurs faces and solves problems hitherto unknown. Like with any venture, some ideas pan out well, others may be ahead of the times and the markets and then few others fail. In all of these though, the experiences offer an immense learning and insight for the entrepreneur. That would prove very valuable in the next venture he/she takes up. And also very helpful for the broader startup community. It is this aspect that we hope to discuss at this month’s SS Hyderabad.

Format: Entrepreneurs to share a brief on their startup, the idea, opportunity targeted, challenges faced and the learnings for posterity. We will have an angel investor present that will present his insights into what else may have helped.

Presentation – A Hitch Hiking Trip To North East

Travel – the not so usual way!

What is your idea of a budget trip? And would you do a budget trip to a remote and sometimes dangerous place? How far would you go in order to stay within your budget? Would you hitchhike, stay with strangers or travel without knowing where you would be the next day? Would you manage to see the sights and also be able to make friends with the locals and be shown around by them?

What if you were told that somebody had really done this and more? And, spent an average of just Rs. 221 per day while doing their trip – to the North East of India. A region in the news more for its strife than for its more flattering features. Want to know how they managed to travel for a month on that ridiculously low budget? Hear it from the horse’s mouth and learn what’s not on their blog -
