Theyyam is a fascinating ritualistic art form, very unique to Kerala. It is a colorful, expressive and transcendent experience both for the artist and the audience. Few Indians and westerners have explored this art so far. I have captured some of its beauty with my lens following artists and watching many Theyyams for months. My book 'Theyyam: Merging with the Divine' is going to be published shortly. The book is a collection of the photographs I have taken and folktales of Theyyams that I have gathered from artists and local experts.
