Why Travel?: Although there exist multiple channels to empower women including literacy, financial security, rights education, etc., I personally
believe that travel and learning about multiple cultures, people and ideas through first-hand experience is the most powerful educational tool.
Why Me?: Hailing from a small town in India (Hubli) and having traveled extensively both within in India and internationally, I have experienced
first-hand, the growth as a person and in confidence levels enabled by travel. And, I have realized that people and world at large is not as bad or
dangerous as it is made to be on a daily basis. And, I want to spread this message as wide as possible.
Envisioned Societal Impact: Encourage women from semi-urban and rural parts of developing Asian countries discover themselves, gain
confidence and grow both personally and professionally through travel experiences.
Objective: To impart the Educational and Empowerment virtues and benefits of travel to the women folk in semi-urban and rural areas in
countries such as India, Burma, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia and Australia.
Why Women?: Women in this part of the world, especially in the non-urban areas are still considered and treated as the weaker gender and are
dependent on men both socially and economically. Some of them who want to break this hold need to adequately educated.

RIDER PROFILE
Professional biker and travel designer, Candida Louis has led more than 34 customised biking group
tours, within India and internationally, having ridden in 14 Countries and 5 Continents, with the
highlight being a 7 month solo ride across 22 states in India covering 34,000 km. She has published
multiple blogs and articles about her journey and has been features in online and digital
publications across India.
With more than 13 years of biking experience, Candida is looking to winder the horizons for Indian
bikers and biking communities and invite them to lifechanging journeys across the world.
