In light of the recent events that have taken place in many parts of the country and one of our own revolutionary poet Varavara Rao being arrested along with the other arrests and raids that have plagued the homes of people like Prof. K. Satyanarayana, Lamakaan is hosting a panel discussion this Sunday, 2 September, 2018 from 3:30PM to 6PM on dissent and democracy, in order to debate the current government's approach to silence the voices of people who speak for the marginalised in our civil society today. We have an emminent list of panelists that includes Prof. K. Satyanarayana (EFLU), Prof. Susie Tharu, Prof. Thirumal. P (UoH), Prof. N. Manohar Reddy (NALSAR), Dr. Jayashree Subramanian (Independent Researcher), Prof. Harjinder Singh Laltu (IIIT) and Dr. Sherin B.S. (EFLU). Dr. Sherin B. S. will also moderate the session.
