Lets GoFarming
Sun Apr 23, 1:00 PM
Jeetendar Singh
We are 900+ members and most of us are working individuals from Hyderabad. The group has been formed to create an easy and reliable platform for the members who wish to practice however find it difficult to do so for various reasons.

All of us love farming and wish to own a land however we cannot quit our jobs right away to take full time farming. Buying a farm land is not as easy as buying a real-estate plot. Sometimes we don't find the right size of land that we want to take. Sometimes the legalities of the documents are not clear, right soil , approach roads, workforce management etc are real time challenges.

Coz of all this issues we end-up not taking farm lands.

We formed this group, keeping all this in mind. As a group it becomes easy and economically viable to own and manage a farm.

PLAY: BADAL SIRCAR;
LANGUAGE : BENGALI;
DIRECTOR:SWAPAN MONDAL;
PRODUCTION: SHUDRKA HYDERABAD;

About the playwright

Badal Sircar (1925 – 2011), a playwright, an actor, a director was a keen observer of life, which attracted him to drama. Be it his traditional plays or a play for the Third Theatre,' one thing which stands out is his deep interest and understanding of the urban milieu. He delved deeper into the evolution of urban polity and tried to bring in humanism into it. While working on 'Third Theatre' format he consciously avoided the folk forms because his roots were in the city.
Badal Sircar established his own theater group - Satabdi. He wrote and produced plays like Spartacus, Bhoma, Michhil, Basi Khobor. He was awarded Padma Shri in 1972, Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1968 and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship - 'Ratna Sadasya,' the highest honour in the field of performing arts in 1997. He was nominated for Padma Bhushan in 2010, which he politely declined.

Bhakti Poets of South India: A Musical Evening by Ragavan Manian

What do a 5th CE Chera prince turned Jain monk from Kochi Kerala, a 15th century gemstone merchant turned mystic from Karnataka and a 19th century firebrand revolutionary from Ettayapuram Tamil Nadu, have in common? What was it that united poets, mystics and thinkers in the Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam languages over the last two millennia? The answer lies in Bhakti, or Love of the Divine. Experience this Unity through songs of devotion composed by these timeless poets, set to music in the Southern Indian Carnatic style and presented by classical Vocalist Ragavan Manian.

Accompanists: O Rajasekar (Violin) & Karra Srinivas (Mridangam).

Sat Apr 29, 7:30 PM
Anuradha Venkataraman
The performance begins with an invocatory piece that praises Sita as the embodiment of the trinity, the
creator, sustainor and destroyer. The remover of despair and giver of all goodness. It follows by tracing the origins of Sita through the story of Ravana as told in the Adbuta Ramayana. This arc traces the arrogance of Ravana and his a boon that he will only die when he unknowingly lusts for his
own daughter and how Mandodari unwittingly becomes pregnant and aborts the baby and hides it in the land of Kurushetra, this aborted child is Sita who has been born as the embodiment of the devi the
female power destined to spell the end of Ravana’s reign of terror. The performance then moves on to the discovery of Sita by Janaka and her precocious childhood. It describes how even as a child she was so powerful that she could pick up Shiva’s bow playfully. This prompts Janaka to decide that whoever marries Sita must be her equal and organize her swayamwara accordingly.Rama’s encounter with this beautiful princess comes next in a piece taken from Ram Charit Manas where Rama describes how spellbound he is with Sita’s beauty when he first encounters her.
The next act takes us to the debate between Sita and Ravana in Ashok Vaatika in a piece taken from
Valmiki Ramayana, here instead of being cowed down by terrifying presence of Ravana she advises him
to mend his ways. The performance concludes with another piece from Adbuta Ramayana. When she is
asked to prove her purity, Sita challenges Rama to kill the thousand headed Ravana of Pushkar without
defeating whom the victory would be incomplete. As Rama battles with the Pushkara Ravana he is
overwhelmed and swoons in this battle. She grasps Rama's bow and arrow, and assumes the terrible
form of Devi.

We are Camp Diaries, an NGO with a soul(sole, if you get the pun) purpose of giving government and low income private school kids all the knowledge and exposure to extra-curricular activities like Dance, Singing, Beatboxing etc. We've been doing that since January 2017. How good are we doing, you ask? Well here we are, with our Nanhe Kalakaar(rap intended), to answer that very question. Our kids have been a part of many events across the city for the past 4 months and have created a personal fan base for themselves. Make sure you are present at our event and leave yourself beautifully enticed enough to carry a bit of stardust from their young souls along. They've got enough love to feed a world, do you not want to be a part of it?

Kamla
Fri May 12, 8:00 PM
Kissago Theatre and Film Production Group
Kamla by Vijay Tendulkar is a naturalistic play. It focuses on the changed role of women in society. It was inspired by a real-life incident - the Indian Express exposure by Ashwin Sarin, who actually bought a girl from a rural flesh market and presented her at a press conference. But using this incident as a launching pad, Tendulkar raises certain cardinal questions regarding the value system of a modern success-oriented generation who are ready to sacrifice human value in the name of humanity itself. The playwright exposes the innate self-deception of this standpoint. It is the story of an unfortunate woman sold away in the flesh market and a so-called happy housewife married to a daring journalist, both having a revelation of finding themselves on the common platform of sexual slavery in this male-dominated world.

A Tribute to Motherhood
Sun May 14, 3:00 PM
Neha Raghuvanshi
Motherhood is the most revered and celebrated bond. On Mother’s Day, we honour mothers, motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. Yet we have a very narrow understanding of this term. We have forgotten that this system of caregiving exists in all mammals and other species, including birds. We have somehow made this a human exclusive emotion. But in reality "A mother's love is the same regardless of the species”. We revere this mother- child bond and yet fail to think about the animal agriculture which is surviving and thriving on the exploitation of this precious relationship. Join us this Sunday on Mother’s Day for a short video screening, followed by a talk about the plight of non human mother's and how we can put an end to this exploitation.

Rediscovering Tagore

Satarupa Roy Kar
Rediscovering Tagore through his letters (নবপরিচয়ে রবীন্দ্রনাথ)

We live in times when space and time has been boxed into the shiny screens of electronic device, our languages have suffered the metamorphosis of jumbled up abbreviated emotions and emoticons. In his times, amidst his incredibly productive life, Rabindranath Tagore took great care to write intimate letters to his friends and family. The sheer literary quality of those apparently simple letters elevate the act of letter-writing to a definitive art-form. On the occasion of his 156th birthday, we would present a collage of his selected letters complemented with his songs and dance. It is our sincere and humble effort to rediscover ourselves in discovering Tagore, again, in a new way.

Crafts and Bots - 5 day Workshop
Tue May 16, 11:00 AM
EtchBricks
With the current trends in technology and increased importance being given to Arts in combination with technology, we introduce the STEAM based Crafts and BotsTM workshop for little innovators this summer.

Crafts and Bots is a combination of Craft work and Robotics. Here the students will be encouraged to think out of the box and develop gadgets and models using things around them like cardboard and thermocol in combination with EtchBricks. EtchBricks are Electronic building blocks which can be plugged in to each other to build amazing interesting projects without the need for programming, soldering or any prior knowledge in electronics.

Using EtchBricks anyone can build projects without the need of a computer. Instead children will be building a very small computer of their own which takes inputs and gives relevant outputs. This circuit in combination with Arts and Crafts help students build amazing models. With the simplicity of building projects, children as young as 7+ years can build, make and innovate amazing creations using EtchBricks.

The short term summer workshop will have the following impact on students

1. Students will be taught, how the basic gadgets around them work.

2. How they can make gadgets on their own using the material around them in combination with EtchBricks; using concepts of STEAM which is Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math.

3. Students will be encouraged to think on their own, discuss and build projects, which will put their creative thinking, group activity and problem solving skills to use.

4. With just a short term workshop, students will gain confidence that they can build interesting projects using things around them.

5. This experience will help them think differently and make contribution to various national level science fairs along with students from various other schools.

Workshop Format:
1. Though we believe in Group Activity, we are very seriously concerned over individual learning. So there is NO group sharing of kits, each kid builds his/her own project. This allows each student gaining confidence to build and make along with bringing shy students to take a forward step who otherwise will be hidden in larger groups.

2. The students will be allowed to think practically and implement their own ideas. Once they get an understanding of the EtchBricks Kit, they will be confident and curious enough to build on their own.

3. A competition will be conducted at the end of the workshop based on a theme, the winner will be provided with an appreciation award and an interesting gift.

FEES: The fees of the Five day workshop will be Rs. 1600/- for 5 days which includes FREE take home kit worth Rs. 500/-.
Timings: The workshop will start at 11:00 AM and end at 1:00 PM every day from Tuesday to Saturday which is 16th May to 20th May.

About the playwright

Badal Sircar (1925 – 2011), a playwright, an actor, a director was a keen observer of life, which attracted him to drama. Be it his traditional plays or a play for the Third Theatre,' one thing which stands out is his deep interest and understanding of the urban milieu. While working on 'Third Theatre' format he consciously avoided the folk forms because his roots were in the city.
Badal Sircar established his own theater group - Satabdi. He wrote and produced plays like Spartacus, Bhoma, Michhil, Basi Khobor.

Crafts and Bots - Day -2
Wed May 17, 11:00 AM
