Parambrata of Kahani fame is the teacher who tries to get his young protege to a big expensive school. "My name is Kencho Das Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi," shouts the urchin in glee. Abandoned at birth, Kencho is stumped when asked for his father's name. He is then shown a 500 rupee note with Mahatma Gandhi's portrait on it and told, that's your father, something he comes to believe.

In the light of all these questions, this talk will highlight the present status of Advance directive bill in India.
With his demise, a wave of protests swept across the country. The state tried to and succeeded in suppressing many of them. Amongst these was a candle light vigil organised at India gate in Rohith’s memory led by his mother, Radhika Vemula and attended by students from all over the country, and his contingent university, University of Hyderabad. Surprisingly, the state didn’t allow this peaceful vigil either.
All the attendees including Radhika Vemula were detained by the police and taken by to a nearby police station in DTC buses, normally the public transport vehicle of the city, which were marked ‘00 Special Service’.
This is a film by ujjwal utkarsh, it is a reflection on the series of events that took place during the peaceful candlelight vigil meant for Rohith Vemula's suicide, symbolically trying to light the candle that wasn’t lit on that day.

ujjwal utkarsh's films have been showcased in various national and international festivals. He has been experimenting with his own practice and loves to dabble in other forms like photography, sound installations and theater/performing arts.
Over the years, ujjwal has been involved in several projects and fellowships. He has been trying to develop his own form out of the observational cinema tradition. One of the themes that constantly pulls him is to look at labour at work, in an observational mode and especially looking at peculiar farming techniques.
Lately he has been interested in the idea of protest and the performity of various protests and the idea of dissent in the present condition/situation of things.

RITA MANCHANDA
I am a scholar-author and human rights activist specialising on conflicts and peace building in South Asia with particular attention to vulnerable and marginalised groups, that is, women, minorities, indigenous peoples and forcibly displaced persons. My particular expertise is the intersection of gender studies with peace and security issues within the context of South Asia. My contribution to shaping the regional Women Peace and Security scholarly and policy discourse is well established. I bring to my research and policy work the rigour of my academic training in International Relations and my varied professional experiences, including my involvement in pedagogic experiments and developing innovative curriculums. In addition there is the vivacity and empiricism of my years as a professional journalist and communication skills honed during my years as a media practitioner in print and television. It has enriched my capacity to design and implement programmes in conflict torn situations and ‘post conflict’ transitions.
Till recently, I was Director, Research at the ‘South Asia Forum for Human Rights (SAFHR), a regional network focusing on rights based approaches to conflicts, peace processes and peace building. Over the last 15 years I have directed and coordinated a diverse portfolio of programmes including ‘Human Rights Audits of Peace Processes,’ Women in Conflict and Peace’, ‘Media in Conflict’, Minority Rights in South Asia, ‘A Rights based Approaches to Poverty Reduction’. During this period I have undertaken short lien jobs and consultancies. I have been Gender Advisor, Commonwealth Technical Fund (2004-5), consultant with UN Women (2010-11,2012-13, 2014), UNDP (2014-15), Centre for Humanitarian Dialogues (2011, 2012), and SAFERWORLD (2015, 2016). I am an experienced guest lecturer on peace, conflict and gender studies including at Ambedkar University (2017), Ramanujan College (2016), Indian Council for Social Development (2016), Rotary Centre ISPCS, Chulalongkorn University (2014), Welthungerhilfe (WHH) (2014), Lady Shri Ram College and was permanent faculty at SAFHR’s ‘Human Rights & Peace Orientation Course’ (2000-2008).
Among my many publications is the multi-country five Volume “SAGE Series in Human Rights Audits of Peace Processes”(Sage:2015) which I edited, as well as co-authored two of the volumes. The latest is the edited volume ‘Women and the Politics of Peace: Narratives of Militarisation , Power and Justice” (Sage:2017) which is a follow up to my benchmark publication “Women War and Peace in South Asia: Beyond Victimhood to Agency “(2001) ” In addition, I have authored the “No Nonsense Guide to Minority Rights in South Asia” (Sage:2009) and the edited volume “States in Conflict with their Minorities” (Sage:2010). These were outputs of the SAFHR-EURAC Minority Rights programme of lectures and training workshops. Of note is the monograph on “ US Non Proliferation policy in South Asia” under the aegis of a Ford Foundation Fellowship at the University of Maryland 1989.
From English Literature to conventional security studies and international relations I have moved to critical security studies, feminising security and bringing a human rights approach to my work on inter-state and internal conflicts and peacebuilding as well as democratic rights in a militarized hyper masculine environment. My research and advocacy focus is oriented towards South Asia.
This talk emphasizes on the relationship of children's autism symptoms with their toxic metal body burden and red blood cell (RBC) glutathione levels. In children ages 3–8 years, the severity of autism was assessed using questionnaire filled by parents . Toxic metal body burden was assessed by measuring urinary excretion of toxic metals, both before and after hbot pemf & detoxification Multiple positive correlations were found between the severity of autism and the urinary excretion of toxic metals. Variations in the severity of autism measurements could be explained, in part, by regression analyses of urinary excretion of toxic metals before and after detox . This study demonstrates a significant positive association between the severity of autism and the relative body burden of toxic metals.

This films tells the true story of seven teenagers who agitated for reduced student bus fares under two different regimes in Argentina, with tragic results. At first succeeding under the government of Isabel Peron, their protests draw hostile attention from the military regime that overthrows Peron. The ensuing crackdown on student social activists is demonstrated when police break up a school dance wielding swords on horseback. Later, six students are kidnapped in the middle of the night, and the police deceitfully claim ignorance about their whereabouts. Pablo (Alejo Garcia Pintos), a seventh member of the group is later arrested and learns that they have been brutally tortured by authorities. He survives to tell their story, but the six are never found, numbering among the hundreds of students who were kidnapped and are still missing.

Humour and satire help us tackle tough times and difficult circumstances. A laugh or two eases our burden momentarily. Much needed in today’s troubled world. A Tongue Untied is a film about humour and satire in Dakhani - a vernacular form of Urdu spoken across the Deccan region. Remember the much-loved routines of the Hindi film comic Mehmood? Beyond his antics and other popular caricatures of the quintessential ‘Hyderabadi’, there is so much more than just funny accents and comic sketches.
Parodied and poorly regarded for centuries, Dakhani’s glorious history and rich legacy has been largely ignored. This film takes a close look at the continuing tradition of mazihiya shayri, or humour-satire performance poetry. From the early poets of the modern era such as Nazeer ‘Dahqani’, the badshah of Dakhani mazihiya shayri Sulaiman Khateeb, to the contemporary ones today including the seniors Mohd. Himayatullah and Ghouse ‘Khamakha’, the film looks at the wide range of humourists and satirists.
Including extensive travels across the Deccan plateau, interviews and conversations with poets, mushaira (poetry show) organisers, litterateurs, Sufi scholars, historians, linguists, actors, film directors, lyricists, playwrights, amongst others, the film also simultaneously uncovers the history of the language and of a composite culture.
From early mystical compositions of Sufi settlers of the 14th century, ornate fantasy tales by court poets, to romantic artistic creations of the sultans of the Deccan of the 15 & 16th centuries, the film traces the journey of the language over time till its precipitous fall in the early 18th century. The language is a marker of a great, rich mixed culture or mili-jhuli tehzeeb as it is commonly known; one that reveals the depth and beauty of syncretic Indo-Muslim traditions of central and south India. This is the story of a land, a people and their beloved language. This is the story of Dakhani.
The story depicts decadent royalty of Central North India. It is set around the life of the last independently ruling Nawab Wajid Ali Shah and concludes with the British annexation of the Nawab's kingdom of Awadh in 1856. The two main characters are the aristocrats Mirza Sajjad Ali and Mir Raushan Ali who are deeply immersed into playing chess. Their desire for the game destroys the competency of the characters, and makes them irresponsible in their duties towards their families and society. They derive immense pleasure in developing chess strategies and ignore the real life invasion by the British. Their city Lucknow falls to British attackers as they are busy playing a game of chess.

Workshop to combat Child Sexual Abuse
Campaign - One of the primary goals of the One Million against Abuse campaign, is to ensure that PERSONAL SAFETY EDUCATION, i.e. Age-appropriate sex education, is made a mandatory part of the school curriculum in all Indian schools. As part of this, we are building a team consisting of 1million sensitized people who support this initiative. A change.org petition was launched last March and has already received an engaged response from Ms.Maneka Gandhi, but has not as of now, given us what we demand. Hyderabad Workshop Layout
Day 1: Parents, Caregivers, Young Adults
This session is open to all except children under the age of 12, unless accompanied by an adult attendee.
• An interactive discussion with a short film screening, along with some visual representations to facilitate understanding of certain concepts. The film is about 8 minutes long, and won a special mention at the National Awards (2016).
• Visuals will be used to provide context for various case studies relating to sexual assault, and will NOT include any visually jarring, violent, or otherwise graphic content. They will however, include text screenshots relating to online abuse and harassment.
• Trigger warnings will be issued at every stage.
• Participants will be encouraged to share ideas and thoughts, and will also have the opportunity to lend their voices and faces to the campaign if they so wish to.
• An art session will enable all involved to leave suggestions and messages of hope for survivors of sexual abuse.
• All participants who share their contact information will be sent a comprehensive list of resources relating to intervention and assistance relating to abuse, depression, and related issues.
Day 2: For Young Citizens
• An interactive session, perhaps lighter in mood than the one with adults. Simpler, Age-appropriate visuals will be shared and the theme of the event will be Personal Safety. Using art, interactive theatre, superheroes and their own ideas, we will journey through the trials and tribulations of Safe and Unsafe zones, tips on staying as safe as possible, and using the classic concept of "real" (minus technology) games such as lock and key, catch and catch, and others, to drive the message home without triggering young minds.
• Trigger warnings however, Will be issued as with the previous session, and resources will be on hand should a child feel distressed at any level.
• A real time interactive series of role-play exercises will place participants in hypothetical situations, where they will be able to decide as to which steps will keep them safe. An example would be - This uncle/aunty is making me uncomfortable, how do I tell mummy-daddy; OR, this senior from school keeps making fun of me, how do i make it stop?
• All participants will also be able to lend their voices and faces to the campaign, WITH prior parental consent.
• An art session will enable all involved to leave suggestions and messages of hope for survivors of sexual abuse.
• All participants who share their contact information will be sent a comprehensive list of resources relating to intervention and assistance relating to abuse, depression, and related issues.

The story depicts decadent royalty of Central North India. It is set around the life of the last independently ruling Nawab Wajid Ali Shah and concludes with the British annexation of the Nawab's kingdom of Awadh in 1856. The two main characters are the aristocrats Mirza Sajjad Ali and Mir Raushan Ali who are deeply immersed into playing chess. Their desire for the game destroys the competency of the characters, and makes them irresponsible in their duties towards their families and society. They derive immense pleasure in developing chess strategies and ignore the real life invasion by the British. Their city Lucknow falls to British attackers as they are busy playing a game of chess.

Campaign - One of the primary goals of the One Million against Abuse campaign, is to ensure that PERSONAL SAFETY EDUCATION, i.e. Age-appropriate sex education, is made a mandatory part of the school curriculum in all Indian schools. As part of this, we are building a team consisting of 1million sensitized people who support this initiative. A change.org petition was launched last March and has already received an engaged response from Ms.Maneka Gandhi, but has not as of now, given us what we demand. Day 2: For Young Citizens
• An interactive session, perhaps lighter in mood than the one with adults. Simpler, Age-appropriate visuals will be shared and the theme of the event will be Personal Safety. Using art, interactive theatre, superheroes and their own ideas, we will journey through the trials and tribulations of Safe and Unsafe zones, tips on staying as safe as possible, and using the classic concept of "real" (minus technology) games such as lock and key, catch and catch, and others, to drive the message home without triggering young minds.
• Trigger warnings however, Will be issued as with the previous session, and resources will be on hand should a child feel distressed at any level.
• A real time interactive series of role-play exercises will place participants in hypothetical situations, where they will be able to decide as to which steps will keep them safe. An example would be - This uncle/aunty is making me uncomfortable, how do I tell mummy-daddy; OR, this senior from school keeps making fun of me, how do i make it stop?
• All participants will also be able to lend their voices and faces to the campaign, WITH prior parental consent.
• An art session will enable all involved to leave suggestions and messages of hope for survivors of sexual abuse.
• All participants who share their contact information will be sent a comprehensive list of resources relating to intervention and assistance relating to abuse, depression, and rel
